I'm alive!

I've been so silent lately, someone could think we're doing nothing but... it's not true. I worked hard on a couple of titles for XBLIG, but because I forecast an XBLIG dark future... I'm working to port what I've done on Unity3d and then publish them on every platform available. Port XNA to Unity isn't an easy job... but neither an hard one. I'm very excited because Unity is now a truly multi-platform game engine (they added Win8 and WP8 to their port options). I also asked to be accepted as a indie dev on XBOX ONE! I have a lot of unfinished games that would fit like a glove for the brand new Microsoft console. So, hold on. Toons of news in this last year quarter coming from the Running Pixel's guys (and girls...)

Miner4Ever, playtest the first playable version

Today, ok tonight... here in Italy is 2.30 AM... I'm going to put in playtest my latest XBLIG game, the first after a long long pause.
I'm very proud of this game because I did everything on my own, code, game-play and graphics with except for the BoxArt and the menu backgrounds that are a Benedetta's creation.

What is Miner4ever?

It's more than a Minecraft style game, it's a mining game with several browser games and RTS gameplay elements.
Start building your empire! Mine resources, dig and build structure to increase you hourly production. Miner4Ever will update your production even when you're not playing with it. Miner4Ever is a game where the classic mine crafting game meets the online real time strategy.

Here some screenshots:

Soon a gameplay footage and further details.

In the case you have a XNA Membership you could download and playtest the game on the AppHub right now.

There's a Facebook page? YES! https://www.facebook.com/Miner4Ever

Unity flash and me (FluffyCraft flash edition!)

Unity has just released the beta version of the long awaited Flash plugin of it's own engine and I ported faster than light my Unity game FluffyCraft.
I was working on its port from Android to iOS but I couldn't resist... so... enjoy FluffyCraft flash edition here

The porting itself wasn't too much difficult considering that this Unity plugin is still a beta version with some bugs.

what I'm up to lately

I have not made any post for a while (barely some tweets), well I think it's time for a recap.

I'm actively working on several fronts: I'm developing a brand new game for Gameccino (my own company), porting some Android games on iOS (see my latest post on the Gameccino dev blog) and I have almost finished an huge 3rd party project. The last one was very stimulating and complex being a reconstruction with augmented reality elements for iOS of an etrurian archelogical area, soon more details here and on the Gameccino's website.

It's enough? Not. I'm learning also learning the basis of the Kinect SDK just for fun and considering if develop or not a second version of an XBLIG games of mine.
